TORONTO, July 8, 2018 – Each week, track announcer Robert Geller comments on some of the performances that caught his eye, highlighting horses to key in on for upcoming races at Woodbine.

FULL EXTREME (06-24-18 Race 9 No 4, 5th)

The debut fifth placed finish by Full Extreme may be better than it appears on paper given that the 3YO was blocked in upper stretch. After having raced at the tail end of the field early, Full Extreme closed with interest once there was clear sailing. Never easy for a newcomer to win a route against more experienced runners, the Kevin Attard trainee completed the jackpot high five behind red hot favourite Ginger Sky, doing his best work at the end of the 1-1/16M distance. It will be interesting to see if Eurico da Silva is back to ride Full Extreme for owner Derek Chin next time out. Traffic issues compromised this son of Sligo Bay who still may be a fit at this $40,000 claiming tag.

ADELLE’S PRINCESS (06-30-18 Race 2 No 2 2nd)

From the lesser known barn of Kevin Buttigieg and the lesser known rider Krista Carignan, 16/1 first time starter Adelle’s Princess gave favoured newcomer Limonaia a real run for her money. It took the length of the stretch before the winning team of Mark Casse-Stonestreet Stables and Florent Geroux could claim victory such was the stubborn fight shown by Adelle’;s Princess edged by merely a neck at the end of the five furlongs. With a further neck to Maritime Breeze in third and a length and three quarters to Soul Planet in fourth, Adelle’s Princess outkicked more experienced rivals to hold on well. More than a mere case of front speed holding throughout the day, Adelle’s Princess outran her odds and is likely to sneak under the radar next out too.
