Job Summary:
The Head Salad/Prep Cook is responsible for leading the preparation and execution of all cold menu items including salads, dressings, appetizers, and desserts. This role requires excellent prep skills, attention to detail, and the ability to support the hot line during service when needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and plate all cold dishes, including composed salads, dressings, cold appetizers, and chilled desserts

  • Maintain organization, cleanliness, and restocking of the cold station (garde manger)

  • Ensure consistency, presentation, and portioning of all cold items

  • Support hot line cooks as needed during busy service (e.g., assisting with plating, garnishing, or simple hot prep)

  • Label, date, and properly store all mise en place

  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards

Skills and Qualifications:

  • 1–2 years experience in a professional kitchen, preferably in a cold station or salad role

  • Solid knife skills and knowledge of classic salad and dressing prep

  • Strong multitasking and communication skills

  • Ability to work clean, fast, and efficiently under pressure

  • Flexibility to assist on other stations as required

  • Food Handler Certification is an asset

Work Environment:

  • Fast-paced kitchen, often during live service

  • Evening, weekend, and holiday availability required
