What we’re looking for
Woodbine Entertainment is on a mission to be a customer-centric marketing powerhouse! Reporting to the Director, Marketing, Events & Experience, this position is responsible for the marketing and promotion of our world class racing facilities, Woodbine and Woodbine Mohawk Park, including the variety of integrated entertainment offerings at both sites. This position will plan, manage and execute marketing initiatives that will achieve results and revenue growth for the integrated sports and entertainment business. Responsibilities will include supporting the Director, Marketing, Events & Experience in the development marketing plans, manage integrated advertising and promotional campaigns across all platforms, and develop stakeholder relationships with internal teams in hospitality, racing, broadcast, sales, sponsorships, events, communications and creative teams. This role will have a specific focus on working with our Hospitality team to enhance and further develop the experience at our various food & beverage outlets, including our new patio, the Stella Artois Terrace.
Further to the venue specific marketing for Woodbine and WMP, this role also includes the planning and execution of event ticketing strategies, sponsorship support and fulfillment and customer journey mapping.
This role has a direct report accountable for executing specific programs, in addition to taking action on on-site hospitality merchandising efforts, signage needs, and casino partner initiatives among others. This manager role is responsible to oversee the successful implementation of these efforts.
The difference you will make
•Contribute to development and co-lead implementation of a strategic and actionable marketing and promotions plan for the business to promote the Woodbine and Woodbine Mohawk Park brands, grow attendance, wagering, and hospitality sales.
•Manage budgets for specific initiatives aligned to role accountabilities and ensure monthly account forecasts are met as expected
•Oversee the planning and execution of Live Racing & Hospitality promotions, sponsorship activations, contests, Live on-site events, or other initiatives from inception to post-analysis reporting, and ensure a positive guest experience
•Ensure that all business recommendations, post-mortem analyses, and metrics are well-documented with lessons learned highlighted to promote continuous quality marketing improvement
•Establish and nurture meaningful internal cross-functional relationships at Woodbine and Woodbine Mohawk Park to gather support for projects and influence their successful completion.
•Manage the media agency and provide strategic input and insights to develop plans to support line of business’ objectives.
•Investigate and propose cross-promotional opportunities wherever possible within the facility experiences to drive wagering and hospitality lines of business, as well as any other business objectives.
•Ensure maintenance of the facility websites with the latest content to deliver a positive customer journey experience in all that we do
•Partner with cross-functional teams to adhere to process to ensure delivery of marketing and merchandising materials at all locations, while ensuring all brand guidelines are adhered to.
•Review and present results achieved and defined key performance indicators, and monitor to ensure and evaluate success
•Support the Director, Marketing, Events & Experience to develop ticket-sales strategies, pricing models, leveraging announcements and creating urgency whenever possible to drive increase sales year-over-year.
•Support the Director, Marketing, Events & Experience in driving cross-functional commitment to Creative Process by marketing team and business partners/stakeholders in order to deliver effective, on-time and quality creative.
•Consult with the Sponsorship team to ensure effective fulfillment of our sponsorship programs, and brainstorm new sponsoring assets and ideas for them to explore.
•Correspond with a cross-functional team (Marketing and Stakeholders) through regular meetings in order to share latest updates, approve creative and other efforts, and action on new ideas.
•Support planning and execution of all Marketing needs for Property Development and Casino Partner executions and ensure alignment with our Strategic Imperatives or Common Purpose/Brand Promise.
•Manage signage, menu, and wayfinding requests and needs within the two facilities to ensure brand consistency and effective rollouts. This includes both permanent solutions as well as interim needs requested by stakeholders.
•Create winning experiences for all our guests and customers, both internal and external.
Key Success Factors
•University or college degree/diploma in Business Administration, Marketing, Sponsorships or related field and/or the equivalent in education and experience
•7 + years of experience in a marketing environment, with preference to those experienced in an end-consumer/guest centric marketing capacity
•Solid understanding of marketing strategy, tactics and planning
•Basic understanding of budgeting and financial management
•Demonstrated ability to bring cross-functional groups together, set objectives and achieve goals without direct reporting authority
•People management skills, including coaching
•Ability to set and manage personal objectives
•Advanced organizational skills necessary to manage varying demands, time constraints and direct reports
•Advanced written and verbal communication skills required for selling, presentations, reports and composing correspondence and marketing plans
•Professionalism and interpersonal skills to represent WEG to external customers, agencies and suppliers

•Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends
•Flexibility to travel to multi-location Woodbine properties within GTA as required. Incumbent will likely be required to travel to Woodbine Mohawk Park site in Milton on a weekly basis
