An exciting new digital brand based in Toronto by Woodbine Entertainment, is seeking a Producer/On-Air Host to join our team on a contract basis. Our mission is to make it easier for casual sports bettors to understand and bet on horse racing.
As the Producer/On-Air Host, you will be responsible for overseeing the production of high-quality content for our brand. This includes working with a team of social content creators to ideate, produce, and distribute content. You will also be responsible for editing and proofreading content, managing the content calendar, and ensuring that all content is published on time and meets our brand's editorial standards.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the production of high-quality content, including blog posts, articles, social media posts, and other materials.
  • Develop and execute a content strategy that aligns with our brand's goals and audience.
  • Edit and proofread content to ensure it is accurate, well-written, and follows our brand's editorial standards.
  • Manage the content calendar and ensure that all content is published on time.
  • Collaborate with social content creators to develop and produce content.
  • Monitor and analyze the performance of our content, using data to inform future content strategies.
  • Work with the marketing team to identify opportunities for content promotion and distribution.
  • Oversee the development of new content formats and ideas, including video, audio, and interactive content.
  • Collaborate with other departments and teams within the company to ensure that content aligns with overall business goals and strategies.
  • Monitor industry trends and best practices to ensure that our content remains relevant and competitive.
  • Mentor and support the development of junior editors and writers on the content team.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and execute a content promotion plan, including the use of social media, email marketing, and other channels.
  • Manage relationships with external content contributors, including freelance writers and subject matter experts.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of editorial guidelines and standards.
  • Identify and pursue new content partnerships and collaborations.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in journalism, English, or a related field preferred.
  • Sports betting knowledge and horse race handicapping a big plus.
  • 5+ years of experience in content production and editing.
  • Excellent editing and proofreading skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.
  • Proficiency with key social media tools including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and TikTok.
  • Experience working with content management systems and SEO best practices.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • A strong understanding of our brand's audience and goals.
  • Experience leading and managing a team is a plus.
  • Experience with video and audio editing software is a plus.
  • Familiarity with analytics tools and the ability to use data to inform content decisions.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Experience working with freelancers and external content creators is a plus.
  • A passion for storytelling and creative problem-solving.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with content promotion and distribution strategies.
  • Strong networking and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, including external contributors and internal teams.
  • Experience with editorial guidelines and standards development is a plus.
  • Knowledge of copyright and intellectual property laws related to content creation and distribution is a plus.
