Our Values & Beliefs

The Senior Manager, Total Rewards provides overall strategic leadership by administering all aspects of total rewards initiatives such as salary planning, bonuses, job architecture, group benefits, pension/ retirement plans, recognition and wellness programs and performance management. As a strategic partner and expert advisor in total rewards; compensation, variable compensation, benefits and pension/retirement programs,  as well as job architecture to enable and support the strategic business needs.   In addition, develops and recommends total rewards strategies and priorities to attract and engage the right and specialized capabilities, as is needed to enable our mission.     
Specific responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the following:

Total Rewards (Design, Execution, Communication) :

-Design and execute all Total Rewards programs while reinforcing the business needs and ensuring compliance and management of legislative changes
-Maintain expertise and continual assessment and research of market trends and recommend considerations for change to current programs by building business cases and calculating the impact on budgets
-Work in collaboration with various functional groups to communicate, promote and ensure awareness of our holistic Total Rewards offering for optimal value creation
-Lead the annual budget submission process and manage any other project-specific initiatives related to Total Rewards programs
-Research, design and implement innovative wellness programs/tools to promote a healthy work environment

-Partner cross-functionally to manage and administer base pay and incentive pay programs
-Maintain compensation foundation elements like pay structures, merit guidelines, pay guidelines, plan documents and update them as needed
-Prepare compensation recommendations for new positions and promotions supported by internal equity and pay guidelines and external competitive benchmarks
-Manage all aspects of the market intelligence process, which includes participating in market research surveys, gathering data, validating it, conducting analysis and building business cases
-Lead the annual compensation review cycle, analyze and present to functional leaders’ compensation themes and pay gaps for their respective teams
-Ensure compliance with internal practices, provincial and federal laws regarding compensation practices and policies
-Manage annual bonus programs which include partnering with senior members to ensure these programs align with overall company goals
-Prepare detailed reports on pay analysis, performance management, budget, and Standard Operating Procedure  recommendations
-Identify and highlight significant risks and opportunities based on current market trends

Benefits, Pension/Retirement Programs and Disability:

-Provide expertise in managing the benefits program with a specific focus around stabilizing and controlling benefits costs
-Analyze and deliver reporting and cost projections to support the recommendation of benefit plan changes, adding new benefits and ensuring program governance
-Develop and maintain strategic relationships with benefit and compensation vendors, consultants, and third-party administrators to ensure they comply with contract terms and conditions and leverage them to continue to offer high-quality programs and maintain market competitiveness
-Create a framework for developing programs and practices to ensure administrative excellence of all benefits operations, including oversight of benefit programs administration and compliance
-Lead the quarterly review for health and group insurance plans, annual open enrollment, which includes the evaluation of costs, annual budget submission process, benefits audit etc.
-Design comprehensive wellness and purpose-driven strategy and be the change ambassador to bring it to life
-Create a strategy to manage disability claims, such as proactively reviewing analytics to identify ways to reduce the number of claims in addition to working with vendors to ensure approved claims are closely managed to further reduce lost time  

Performance Management:

- Create a performance management strategy and plan to optimize performance and establish continuous feedback model 
- Lead the annual performance management process and cycle 

Key Success Factors:

-University or college degree in Human Resources preferred
-5-8+ years experience specializing in Human Resources and Total Rewards 
-Experience with People Soft or HCM equivalent at a functional level and Saba 
-Demonstrated knowledge of Total Rewards, data analytics, HR, and Employment legislation  
-Solid understanding of Microsoft office computer applications, in particular, Excel
-Expert analytical and business intelligence skills
-Strong project planning skills and the ability to work under strict deadlines as well as managing multiple priorities 
-Strong communication, problem solving and influencing skills
-Ability to lead, coach and develop team members
-Highly customer focused and collaborative to support initiatives and team members
