•Draft and revise a variety of contracts with internal and external stakeholders in the development and construction industry.
•Assist with procurement activities for services and products.
•Ensure the organization's internal contract documents are accurate and well maintained
•Meet with vendors to discuss both legal and business matters
•Provide advice and guidance to the different teams relating to contract generation
•Maintain excellent working relationships with external and internal stakeholders to ensure their needs are met
•Create, prepare, review and edit all contracts
•Assist in the change order process with project managers.
•Provide support and advice on new potential businesses opportunities
•Identify opportunities to improve business processes and devise plans to implement these changes
•Managing Request for Proposal process from a combination of architects, engineers, technical consultants and contractors. Have skills evaluating professional teams, scoring multiple proposals, and following up with contracts with the winning bidders
Key Success Factors
•7+ years experience in contract management and procurement, preferably from construction or development related industry
•Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Architecture, Finance or Commerce
•Experience in the contract administration process
•Demonstrate a solid understanding of legal terminology
•Relevant work experience in the development and construction industry.
•Previous experience with CCDC, OAA and similar contracts is required
•Comfortable working as part of a multidimensional team
•Exemplify a strong attention to detail
•Possesses superior organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects with shifting deadlines
•Must have strong computer skills and knowledge of common programs such as Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, Adobe and DocuSign
•Knowledge and experience with related Ontario Construction and Contract Law is strongly preferred.
•Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills
•Capable of professionally managing confidential information
•Strong business acumen
•Skills allow for working independently with little supervision
•Thorough knowledge of applicable legal terminology, contract language interpretation, and terms and conditions
•Self-motivated with excellent organizational skills
•Strong communication skills – oral and written are essential
•Adaptable to flexible work schedule when required to meet deadlines
•Ability to work with others as a team
