JOB SUMMARY

Reporting to the Sr. Manager & Manager, Food & Beverage or their designate, the Dining Room Server acts as a personal representative of the Woodbine Full-Service Restaurant Dining Rooms by delivering prompt, attentive, and professional service throughout the guests’ dining experience. This individual plays a key role in creating a welcoming atmosphere, taking food and beverage orders, serving meals and drinks, and ensuring guest satisfaction from start to finish. The ideal candidate will have exceptional communication skills, a strong commitment to teamwork, and a passion for providing outstanding hospitality. They will exemplify professionalism and attention to detail, contributing to the high standards and strong reputation of Woodbine Entertainment and our Dining Rooms.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Guest Service

• Deliver, maintain, and exceed guest service quality standards as established by F&B Department

• Demonstrate courtesy, commitment, and professionalism

• Maintain a positive attitude and provide friendly, professional, and enthusiastic service at all times

• Acknowledge and provide genuine attention and care for our guests from arrival and seating through their departure

• Invite guests to experience services and specially featured products and promotions

• Offer menu and recommend specials/promotions and suggestive sell based on guest needs and wishes. Recommend pairings to enhance guest experience

• Take orders accurately in a timely manner and check with guests on allergies and assist guests if they have any questions pertaining to the menu.

• Ring food and beverage orders accurately on point of sale (POS) system and serve as per standard presentation in a timely manner

• Ensure food and beverages are served and presented as per the standard

• Be accessible at all times to ensure additional requests are met and soiled dishes and glassware are removed in a timely manner

• Accurately verify prices and taxes on all orders

• Record all sales, present guest order, collect payment, and remit deposit

• Adhere to Smart Serve and Alcohol and Gaming Commission (AGCO) regulations

• Master the menu – in depth knowledge of our food and beverage offering and able to suggestive sell as well as recommend pairings

• Ensure guest feedback is taken on food and beverages served at the table in a timely manner and offer assistance when needed. Ability to resolve minor issues at the table in a timely manner

• Adhere to the company grooming and uniform standards, including being professional at all times while on duty

• Attend meetings and training as required

Operations

• Perform all opening and closing procedures for assigned workstation and side duties including table setting, polishing cutlery/glassware, stocking, etc. as detailed by management

• Consistently maintain a neat, clean, and organized workstation and floor section

• Regularly clean and stock service area

• Transport food and bar service trays and soiled dish trays to appropriate areas • Uphold and comply with department policies and practices

• Ensure inventory is accounted for by ringing in items accurately, track wastages, and spills if there are any

• All other duties as assigned

Communication

• Foster teamwork by working harmoniously with co-workers, assisting with duties, while maintaining a high standard of guest experience

• Advise Supervisor of any occurrences which may compromise or be damaging to positive customer relations

• Advise Supervisor of any occurrences which may impede operational efficiency

• Report any special occurrences or discrepancies to Manager &/or Supervisor

• Identify and recommend opportunities for improving service or operational performance to Manager &/or Supervisor
