Reporting to the Senior Manager, Cash Operations, this position will ensure that Woodbine Entertainment requested Cash Forecast requirements from Brinks are being completed in accordance with standard operating procedures and contractual agreements. Daily review of the Brinks Treasury and BA Reports and investigate and report any discrepancies.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensures that all money related reports regarding accounting and payroll (i.e., Brinks Treasury Reports, BA Reports, and teller shortage reports) are accurate through auditing daily
  • Monitors cash equipment to ensure all units have sufficient cash funds available to support operations. Provides operational support when required to resolve machine malfunctions
  • Ensures processes are followed at all times with respect to emptying and transporting cash from the drop safes and main vault in a safe and efficient manner when required
  • Ensures that cash transactions related to onsite automatic and self-service terminals are balanced by, investigating and analyzing thoroughly, in accordance with standard operating procedures
  • Performs a daily count and balancing of Woodbine vault, including security sweep and protocols of the money room to protect the cash assets of the company
  • Assist in investigations, assess, and resolve problems related to cash supplies and equipment
  • Works closely with Senior Manager to investigate and resolve balancing issues related to service provider activities and reporting
  • Provides onsite support for Senior Manager when required i.e. days off and vacation

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

  • Post-secondary education in a related field (Business Management)
  • 3-5 years’ experience in a similar environment
  • General money handling experience, retail, processing, banking or other
  • General knowledge of all aspects of the Cash Operations environments and proper handling of cash, including security and proper cash balancing processes
  • Basic knowledge of the horse racing industry
  • General knowledge of accounting principles
  • Knowledge of the Amtote System, cash recyclers and Ticket in Cash out equipment, ATM and related equipment 
  • Able to build and maintain effective relationships with team members and guests through a positive winning attitude
  • Ability to know where to look or research where to find the right answer
  • Ability to communicate effectively in person on the phone and by e-mail
  • Ability to interpret a contract and adhere and enforce it
  • Ability to generate and analyze financial reports
  • Ability to multitask and work under multiple deadlines and handle emergency situations in a timely manner
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal required for effective interaction and relationship development with both internal and external parties.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with internal/external stakeholders with a solutions-based mindset
  • Strong organizational skills with an ability to balance multiple projects in a fast-paced operational environment
