2024 Official Milliner Ranelle Larocque
Ranelle Larocque, is an award-winning Canadian milliner, and the 2024 Official Milliner of the King’s Plate at Woodbine Racetrack. Her exquisite one-of-a-kind designs have been worn at formal events worldwide such as Royal Ascot in the United Kingdom, Kentucky Derby, and at the historic Queen’s and now King’s Plate, Canada’s oldest and most prestigious thoroughbred race. Her creations have also been worn at Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s birthday garden party, as well as at countless ceremonial military functions, private and public fashion events and weddings around Canada and the world.
A proud member of the British Millinery Association, Ranelle has trained under the acclaimed milliner Katherine Elizabeth in London, England. Voted Ottawa’s Best Fashion Designer in 2023, Ranelle’s work has been featured in national, international, and local publications, including the esteemed HATalk magazine, The Humm, the Eastern Ontario Business Journal, and the Ottawa Business Journal. Recently, Ranelle’s work has been featured on CTV News, CBC TV and CBC Radio’s All In a Day, and she was a distinguished participant in the inaugural international millinery exhibition, “The Queen’s Hat,” in Milan, Italy.
