MILTON, February 27, 2018 – Mild temperatures in late-February has created significant anticipation for the return of live Standardbred racing to Woodbine, Mohawk Park. The picturesque racetrack in the heart of Campbellville will welcome the Standardbreds back on April 12 and become the permanent home of Canada’s finest harness racing. Year-round racing requires facilities that can withstand all seasons and Mohawk Park has been undergoing renovations since racing moved to Woodbine Racetrack in mid-October. [Details of last June’s announcement regarding year-round racing and upgrades to Woodbine, Mohawk Park can be found by clicking here.] Woodbine Entertainment’s commitment to World Class Horse Racing and providing customers with first-class experiences will be front and centre when racing returns in April. Upgrades to the Grandstand include new glass in the Dining Room, a full-service kitchen in the Terrace Lounge and the addition of VIP Suites, while enhancements to the Standardbred paddock will ensure a comfortable setting for horsepeople during all months. Continuing with its commitment to a first-class work environment as a certified employer on the Great Places To Work Index, Woodbine Entertainment has invested in upgrades to multiple working areas, including a brand new maintenance building and renovated broadcast studio. Woodbine’s commitment to providing the best for racing participants, customers and employees at Mohawk Park is setting the tone for many years of World Class Horse Racing and Entertainment in the Milton-area. Year-round racing at Woodbine, Mohawk Park begins Thursday, April 12 with the $1 million Pepsi North America, the signature race of the 2018 season, slated for Saturday, June 16.
