MILTON, October 29, 2018 – The inaugural Woodbine Mohawk Park Championship Meet will conclude on Monday evening with a 10-race card and the possibility for plenty of drama. The meet, which began April 12, has seen a tight battle for leading driver throughout, while the training title has gained some last minute intrigue due to a late rally. Louis Philippe Roy enters Monday’s card as the leading driver with 127 wins. His lead is as small as it gets, as Sylvain Filion trails by just a single win and Bob McClure is just two back. Trevor Henry sits four wins back, while Doug McNair rounds out the top-five with 120 victories. McNair’s spot in fifth is notable, as the reigning Canadian Driver of the Year has the highest winning percentage of any driver with over 100 starts at 15.4%. McNair has driven in 779 races during the meet at Mohawk Park, which is significantly less than 929 starts or more accumulated by the four drivers above him in the standings. The Stouffville resident has 79 wins, which is three more than perennial leading trainer Richard Moreau. The Moreau barn has racked up 17 wins over the last 20 cards of racing, eight more Auciello, to make things interesting in the trainer’s category. Fans watching Monday’s card should expect a battle to the final race for the driving title, while the Moreau barn will need to rack up some early victories to create the same drama for the training title. Below is a breakdown of the leading drivers and trainers and how many times they will compete on Monday’s 10-race card. Post Time 7:10 p.m. Click Here to download a free program.
