A small wager went a long way in Saturday’s seventh at Woodbine Mohawk Park courtesy of 69-1 winner Gentleonmymind and 67-1 runner-up Hungry Man.

Trained by Anita Ouellette for husband and breeder/owner Luc Ouellette, Gentleonmymind came from the clouds to steal the $16,000 pace by a half-length.

The 6-year-old Shadow Play bay notched his second win of the season and 10th overall (10-14-8; $146,267) from 93 starts.

Hungry Man, who also turned in a valiant effort for trainer Gregg McNair, has made over $321,000 lifetime (103: 16-13-10).

A $2 win wager on Gentleonmymind paid $141.90, while a $2 8-9 exactor paid $2,212.70.

The Ready, set, go

Overseas Farms’ The Ready continued his strong start to the season with a career-best outing in the fourth contest on Mohawk’s Saturday evening card.

Teamed with driver Jean-Bernard Renaud, the 4-year-old son of Bettors Delight–Sweet Ana Hanover stopped the clock in 1:54.1 to set a new watermark in a confident 3 ½-length victory.

The Ready has been steady through seven 2026 starts for trainer Julie Walker, collecting a pair of wins to go with one second and one third.

Sent off at 3-1 on Saturday, The Ready paid $8.80.
