Irish Eyes Are Smiling

The 5-year-old son of Always B Miki now has an 13-8-9 mark from 53 starts, accompanied by $296,563 earnings.

Bred by Fred Hertrich, the bay gelding carved out a final panel in :27.3 to notch his latest victory.

Three Golds and Three Silvers

Booker Seelster has been the model of consistency over his past handful of starts, reaching the middle of the podium three times and the left side on three occasions.

Trained by Terry Fritz, who co-owns with David Wilson, the 4-year-old son of Sunshine Beach bested two foes (three horses were scratched) in the second leg of the Snowshoe Series.

With recent milestone man Doug McNair in the sulky, the bay gelding recorded a one-length score on Saturday in a time of 1:56.3.

Sent off as the 1-9 choice, Booker Seelster, bred by Seelster Farms Inc., returned $2.10 for his most recent gold performance.

House Call

Despite the low temperatures, Docs Earnest, trained by Kayla Hendry, earned his second career score courtesy of a 1 1/4-length score in the eleventh race on Saturday night.

Piloted by James MacDonald, the 5-year-old son of American Ideal was sent on his way as the 2-5 choice in the eight-horse field.

On top by a half-length at the stretch call, Docs Earnest, who was sixth in the early going, was able to fend off his foes for the win in 1:55.1.

Bred and owned by Dr. Andrew Roberts, the bay gelding returned $2.90 for the win.
