TORONTO, March 26 – The Standardbred Jackpot Hi-5 carryover continues to grow and currently sits at $726,120.53 heading into Thursday night’s card. The Jackpot Hi-5 wager is offered on the final race every evening and requires the bettor to select the top five finishers in order. If there are multiple winning tickets, 50% of that evening’s pool is carried over to the following card. If there is only one winning ticket, that bettor takes home the entire ‘Jackpot’. Here is a preview of Thursday’s Jackpot Hi-5 (Race 10) by Mark McKelvie. Race Number: 10 Gait: Pace Conditions: Fillies & Mares Claiming Handicap $15,000 to $20,000 For Non-Winners of $40,000 Lifetime. Field Size: 10 Tonight’s Jackpot Hi-5 is another wide-open affair with plenty of contenders and plenty of options for you to put together your ticket. The Jackpot Hi-5 pools have been outstanding over recent weeks and multiple winning tickets will still return a solid payout. Here are my top contenders in tonight’s race. #1 MAKE WAY (5/2) – Has won two of her last four starts, while finishing fifth in the other two. She will take plenty of attention tonight and is more than capable of being a top factor in here. #10 CALL ME MAYBE (6/1) – Is stuck with a poor post, but she showed last week she can close very well from the back. I think a better post would catapult her into the top spot, but I still expect her to get a major piece. I think #1 MAKE WAY is the top contender to win tonight, but if things get interesting, #10 CALL ME MAYBE could pick up the pieces. These are my top two contenders, but there is a solid group of horses who will rival. #3 FROSTY DELIGHT (4/1) – Returns to this class tonight where she finished seventh two starts back. She gets a much better post tonight then that start and could slip in and get a cheque. #6 ALOT OF SENSE (7/1) – Moves into the claiming ranks off a break last week. That break was unlike her and I don’t expect it to carry over into tonight. She is capable of good bounce back. #7 BELLA MASTER (8/1) – Hasn’t had much success lately, but she has shown in the past she has some ability. She gets a new driver tonight in Jody Jamieson and that could shake things up. The biggest key to hitting the Jackpot Hi-5 is to have a longshot. Some nice prices have hit the ticket as of a late in the Jackpot Hi-5. Here is my upset horse in tonight’s Jackpot Hi-5. #5 DEBBIES MACH (9/1) – Moves back to the big track and will try to get back on track. She’s been successful at earning cheques on our circuit and she comes from a good barn. Good luck with how you map out your Jackpot Hi-5 ticket.
