MILTON, December 14, 2018 – Sophomore pacing filly Kendall Seelster took home the top prize for the second consecutive week in Friday’s $30,000 Fillies & Mares Preferred at Woodbine Mohawk Park. The Rod Boyd trainee and driver Sylvain Filion took their by coming from sixth and third-over to charge by rivals for a 1:53.4 victory. A deep field of seven was led by Obvious Blue Chip through opening fractions of :28, :57 and 1:25.4. Request For Parole came first up on the far turn and followed on the outside by Double A Mint, Kendall Seelster and Darlinonthebeach. In the stretch, Double A Mint charged by to take the lead briefly before Kendall Seelster overtook the top spot with an eighth of a mile to go. Kendall Seelster stormed home in :27.1 and hit the wire first, defeating a strong Darlinonthebeach by three-quarters of a length. Double A Mint finished third. The Trifecta of Kendall Seelster, Darlinonthebeach and Double A Mint was the same as last week’s Fillies & Mares Preferred. A daughter of Shadow Play, Kendall Seelster scored her ninth win of the season and fourth at the Preferred level. Her seasonal earnings increase to $273,465 with Friday’s score, while her career numbers now sit at an impressive 13 wins and $737,450 for owners 1187422 Ontario Inc.
