MILTON, May 13, 2019 – James MacDonald posted a Grand Slam Monday evening at Woodbine Mohawk Park to reach 2,000 career driving wins. The Guelph, Ontario resident entered the evening three wins shy of the milestone and came through with the number he needed, plus one, by steering Marquis Volo, Cue Hall, Fast N First and Rockin Wizard to victories. MacDonald’s milestone score saw three-year-old pacing colt Fast N First display plenty of grit to hold off challengers in the lane for his second win of the season. The Blake MacIntosh trainee is eligible to the Pepsi North America Cup. James MacDonald is recognized for reaching 2,000 wins on Monday evening by Woodbine’s Mark McKelvie, Manager of Communications. (New Image Media) MacDonald, who started driving in 2009, has posted six 200-plus win seasons during his career and topped $3 million in earnings in each of the last five years. His 2019 numbers now sit at 52 wins and over $900,000 in earnings. The 2,000 win milestone comes just 11 days before MacDonald competes in the 2019 World Driving Championship. The 33-year-old is heading to Sweden as the defending champion after winning the 2017 event on home soil. Fans can meet MacDonald and fellow driver Doug McNair, who is also competing in the World Driving Championship, on Saturday evening at Mohawk Park during a meet and greet from 5:30 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. Share This:Share
