TORONTO, January 10 – Woodbine Entertainment (Woodbine) is proud to announce that the company has been certified as a Great Workplace after a thorough and independent analysis conducted by Great Place to Work® Canada. This certification is based on direct feedback from employees, provided as part of an extensive and anonymous survey about the workplace experience.
From wagering, to technology, to property development, 2017 was a successful year for the company with the results being partly attributed to the inclusive and innovative company culture.
Achieving the certified designation fulfils a key tactic of the company’s strategic plan and is a major distinction among races tracks and entertainment companies.
“When I assumed the position of CEO nearly three years ago, the Board of Directors challenged the Woodbine leadership team to shift our corporate culture,” said Jim Lawson, CEO Woodbine Entertainment. “As an industry in need of transition, it’s vital for us to have engaged employees. These engaged employees become our competitive advantage and through their professionalism, efficiency and innovation, we are able to lead an industry while being a progressive employer and responsible corporate citizen.”
