Woodbine Entertainment is committed to slowing the spread of COVID-19. Please see the following that describes how we our supporting efforts to slow the spread.

Racing – Woodbine Racetrack

As of March 15, Woodbine Racetrack is temporarily closed to the public for two weeks following the recommendation of the Canadian Government in regards to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The thoroughbred opening day remains scheduled for April 18, but will be subject to an ongoing assessment of the situation. Read more

Racing – Mohawk Park

As of March 15, Woodbine Mohawk Park is temporarily closed to the public for two weeks following the recommendation of the Canadian Government in regards to the COVID-19 pandemic.

As of March 20, standardbred racing at Mohawk Park has been suspended until further notice. Read more

Wagering

Horse racing fans can continue to watch and wager online through HPIbet. HPIbet gives access to racetracks from around the world and is simple to sign up for an account. Click here to sign up

Queen’s Plate

We are pleased to announce that The Queen’s Plate, the longest continuously running race in North America, has been rescheduled to be back for its 161st edition, to take place on September 12, 2020. Please note that a decision around a ticketed spectator-attended Queen’s Plate event has not yet been made, and existing ticket holders continue to have the option to either keep their reserved seats for the new date OR receive a full refund (incl. fees) through Ticketmaster.

Pepsi North America Cup (PNAC)

We are pleased to announce that the Pepsi North America Cup has been rescheduled to take place on August 29, 2020.

Derby Party

The Kentucky Derby has been postponed until September 5, 2020. As such, the Derby Party planned for Woodbine Racetrack has been cancelled until further notice.

WEGZ / Greenwood Teletheatre

As of March 17, WEGZ Stadium Bar and Greenwood Teletheatre are closed for a minimum of 14 days as per government recommendations.

Champions Off Track Betting

With many Champions locations currently closed, you can still watch and wager online with a HPIbet account. If you’re unsure if your local Champions is open, we’d encourage to call ahead.
