Woodbine ready to launch 129 race-date season

TORONTO, April 25, 2024 – Woodbine Entertainment is set to launch its 2024 Thoroughbred racing season this Saturday at Woodbine Racetrack in Toronto, Ontario.

The 2024 season at Woodbine will consist of 129 race dates and runs through Sunday, December 15. ​ The first two weeks of the meet will have racing held on Saturday and Sunday.

Saturday’s opening day card will feature ten races and includes the $125,000 Star Shoot Stakes. Fans will want to arrive early on Saturday to receive a free Woodbine travel mug. Fans are entitled to one mug per person. Post time is 1:10 p.m.

The new season is highlighted by the 165th running of The King’s Plate on Saturday, August 17. Turf Champions Day on Saturday, September 14 will have the eyes of the racing world on Woodbine, with four Grade One events on the card, including the Woodbine Mile.

Woodbine will add Fridays to the racing schedule on May 10 and then add Thursday twilight racing beginning May 23.

Post time on Friday, Saturday and Sunday will be 1:10 p.m., while Thursday cards will begin at 4:50 p.m.
