Champions Off-Track Betting salutes Sgt. Peppers

May 5, 2016

Toronto, May 5 – Woodbine Entertainment Group (WEG) has proudly announced the latest location to join the Champions Off-Track Betting network putting the venue count to 55 in Ontario.

The newest partnership to be forged is with Sgt Peppers Pub & Grill. Located in the heart of Stouffville at 1076 Hoover Park Road, the impressive venue boasts a welcoming environment where fans can catch all their favourite sports events while enjoying a versatile menu.

They will celebrate their grand opening Saturday, May 14 where guests will be offered free racing programs, great food specials, wearable giveaways and a chance at $100 “Daily Instant Win” ticket prizes.

Sgt Peppers Pub and Grill has been servicing the city of Whitchurch-Stouffville for more than six years. In addition to the food and beverage services, they offer up a daily events calendar such as dart, poker and karaoke nights. The venue also hosts live music performances on the weekend.

"Champions is proud to be serving horseplayers of the GTA North with this latest addition. Although we have sites in Markham and Richmond Hill, there was a demand in servicing the Whitechurch-Stouffville area,” said Tom Papakonstantinou, WEG’s General Manager, Ontario Operations, Champions Off-Track Betting. “There have been questions about their unique name which has a two pronged-answer. It’s taken from the Beatles’ 1967 quintessential album ‘Sgt. Pepper’s’. They chose that name as they pride themselves on performing that same kind of quality with their business, as the Beatles did with that record.”

Champions Off-Track Betting gives horse racing fans the chance to watch and wager on live Thoroughbred and Standardbred racing from tracks across the world, right in their own neighbourhood.
