Corporate Impact
About Us

We are Canada’s largest horse racing operator, offering premier Thoroughbred racing at Woodbine Racetrack in Toronto and Standardbred racing at Woodbine Mohawk Park in Milton.
We also own and operate H.P.I. Bet, the country’s only dedicated horse racing wagering platform. Home to iconic events like The King’s Plate, the Pepsi North America Cup, and multiple Breeders’ Cup Challenge Series races, our venues host some of the sport’s most prestigious moments.
Mandate and Vision.
As an organization that operates like a not-for-profit organization without share capital, Woodbine reinvests all profits into the horse racing industry, supporting more than 25,000 jobs across Ontario and helping secure a sustainable future for the sport.

Welcome Message from
Michael Copeland, President & Chief Executive Officer

At Woodbine, our focus is clear: to lead and strengthen Ontario’s horse racing industry while growing wagering in a way that supports jobs, investment, and long term success. Racing is our core business, and this Corporate Impact Report reflects how we are aligning our decisions, resources, and priorities to protect and grow that foundation.
Over the past year, we also reimagined this report as a fully digital experience. This shift improves accessibility and transparency, and better connects our impact story to the strategy guiding Woodbine forward.
That strategy is anchored in our five year plan and five priorities: Strengthen Racing Foundations; Optimize Wagering; Drive Operational Efficiencies; Build Total Leadership through our culture and people; and Activate Property Development. Together, these priorities sharpen our focus on what matters most—delivering strong racing, modern wagering, and disciplined operations that support long term growth.
Strengthening racing foundations remains at the centre of our work. From horse welfare and safety, to workforce stability and industry partnerships, we are focused on the fundamentals that ensure racing in Ontario remains strong and credible. At the same time, we are modernizing how fans engage with the sport by enhancing wagering products, improving the on track offering, and expanding digital reach to drive future wagering growth.
Operational discipline is critical to achieving these goals. We are simplifying how we operate, improving efficiency, and ensuring resources are directed toward initiatives that support racing and wagering performance. This approach allows us to reinvest in key priorities, including people, infrastructure, and the systems required to support a modern racing and entertainment destination.
Our commitment to Total Leadership reflects the importance of strong leadership, accountability, and a high performing culture. We are investing in our workforce, prioritizing safety and well being, and ensuring our people have the tools and support needed to deliver for our customers, partners, and the industry.
We also relaunched Woodbine Cares, our philanthropic platform guided by the principle For the Love of the Horse Racing Community. Woodbine Cares focuses our charitable efforts on horse welfare and aftercare—supporting initiatives that protect the well being of the horses at the heart of our sport and the people who care for them.
Finally, activating our property is an important part of supporting Woodbine’s long term business outlook. Thoughtful development will create new revenue opportunities that can be reinvested in racing and wagering. This work is progressing carefully, with early community consultations underway and constructive engagement with the City of Toronto now well underway to ensure future development reflects shared priorities and delivers broad economic benefit.
This report reflects a year of focus, discipline, and progress. I am proud of the dedication of our employees, horse people, and partners, and confident in the direction we are taking to strengthen racing and wagering in Ontario.
