New Image Media Digging in Vandiemen Bluechip held on tight in Saturday’s 12th and final contest to secure his second career Mohawk victory. Pitted in a late battle with even-money choice Uncle Shank A, Vandiemen Bluechip and driver Doug McNair stood tall to reach the wire a neck clear. The sturdy score was the 5-year-old Huntsville gelding’s 13th from 60 lifetime starts (13-11-9; $473,299). McNair and Menary were back in the winner’s circle in the seventh dash, this time with trotter Stable Genius.
