Sky’s the limit

Veteran Downbytheseaside mare Carrera Sunset N (14-1) held on tight to secure her third win of the campaign in Saturday’s fifth.

The 7-year-old bay, out of Badlands Hanover mare Harmony Franco, held firm against late pressure from 8-5 choice Madam X to maintain a neck’s advantage through the wire.

Trained by Jacques Dupont for owner Ecurie Csl, Carrera Sunset N now sports a 12-6-7 line and over $123,000 in prizes across 54 starts.

Piloted by Louis-Philippe Roy, she paid $31.90.

Back on the winning track

Monalishi, trained and co-owned by Blake MacIntosh, got back to her winning ways courtesy of a one-length score in Sunday evening’s eighth race.

With Doug McNair at the controls, the 4-year-okd daughter of Green Manalishi S stormed to a sizable lead and then coasted home for the win in a career-best time of 1:51.2.
