Monday Twitter Challenge – Playoff Matchups & Rules

MILTON, February 26, 2019 – The Playoff matchups are set for Monday Twitter Challenge.

The Playoff format will feature the top 16 players from the Regular Season clashing in head to head, single-elimination contests. The field will be narrowed down from Round of 16 to Quarter-Finals to Semi-Finals to Final.

Here are the matchups for the Round of 16:

Round of 16 (March 11)

  • 1 vs. 16, 2 vs. 15, 3 vs. 14, 4 vs. 13, 5 vs. 12, 6 vs. 11, 7 vs. 10, 8 vs. 9.
  • Each player selects any three (3) horses competing in the opening 5 races of the card for a $2 Win-Place-Show wager.
  • The player with the higher bankroll at the end of the evening wins the matchup and advances to the next round.
  • 1st Tiebreaker: Most Wins that night
  • 2nd Tiebreaker: Most Top 2 Finishes that night
  • 3rd Tiebreaker: Most Top 3 Finishes that night
  • 4th Tiebreaker: Most Wins during Regular Season
  • 5th Tiebreaker: Race-Off – A race on the next card will be selected as the Race-Off. Each player picks one horse and the player with the best finish advances. The higher seeded player will get first selection.

Quarter-Finals (March 18)

  • Matchups are determined by highest remaining seed vs. lowest remaining seed.
  • Each player selects any three (3) horses competing in the opening 5 races of the card for a $2 Win-Place-Show wager.
  • The player with the higher bankroll at the end of the evening wins the matchup and advances to the next round.
  • 1st Tiebreaker: Most Wins that night
  • 2nd Tiebreaker: Most Top 2 Finishes that night
  • 3rd Tiebreaker: Most Top 3 Finishes that night
  • 4th Tiebreaker: Most Wins during Regular Season
  • 5th Tiebreaker: Race-Off – A race on the next card will be selected as the Race-Off. Each player picks one horse and the player with the best finish advances. The higher seeded player will get first selection.

Semi-Finals (March 25)

  • Matchups are determined by highest remaining seed vs. lowest remaining seed.
  • Each player selects any three (3) horses competing in the opening 5 races of the card for a $2 Win-Place-Show wager.
  • The player with the higher bankroll at the end of the evening wins the matchup and advances to the next round.

  • 3rd Tiebreaker: Most Top 3 Finishes that night
  • 4th Tiebreaker: Most Wins during Regular Season

Final (April 1)

  • Each player selects any three (3) horses competing in the opening 5 races of the card for a $2 Win-Place-Show wager.

  • 2nd Tiebreaker: Most Top 2 Finishes that night
  • 3rd Tiebreaker: Most Top 3 Finishes that night
  • 4th Tiebreaker: Most Wins during Regular Season
  • 5th Tiebreaker: Race-Off – A race on the next card will be selected as the Race-Off. Each player picks one horse and the player with the best finish advances. The higher seeded player will get first selection.

Submitting Selections:

  • Players can submit selections through a Direct Message on Twitter to @WoodbineSB
  • Players will be contacted through Twitter on Monday morning of each round.
  • All selections for the evening must be submitted by “Off Time” of the evening’s first-race.
  • In the event of a scratch, a player may select a new horse from that race.
  • If a new selection is not submitted by the “Off Time” of the race with the scratched horse, the player will receive the Post Time favourite in that race.
