75 make first Pepsi North America Cup sustaining payment

April 2, 2018

MILTON, April 2, 2018 – Only four horses dropped off the eligibility list for this year’s $1 million Pepsi North America Cup following the first sustaining payment on March 15.

A total of 79 three-year-olds pacers were originally nominated to this year’s edition of the Pepsi North America Cup and now 75 remain eligible heading towards the next sustaining payment (April 15).

Award-winners Stay Hungry and Lost In Time continue to headline the group of eligible sophomores.

Stay Hungry, who is trained by Tony Alagna, captured the O’Brien Award as Canada’s top two-year-old pacing colt after a rookie season that saw him win six of nine starts, including the $600,000 Breeders Crown, and banked $557,088 for owners Brad Grant and Irwin Samelman.

Lost In Time, who is trained by Jimmy Takter, won the $816,000 Metro Pace and $411,700 Governor’s Cup during his two-year-old campaign and finished five for nine with $687,432 earned.  He was named the Dan Patch Award winner as top rookie pacing colt in the US.

Lost In Time enters his three-year-old season racing for Diamond Creek Racing, J And T Silva Stables LLC, William Rufenacht, Scott Robinson’s Team S Racing Stable and professional wrestling legend Ric Flair.
