Trainer Jeff Gillis will be looking for a big night from his pupils as he sends out a trio of starters in the $125,000 Spring Pacing Championship this Saturday at Woodbine.

Lisagain, Ideal Race and Twin B Warrior will all line up behind the starting gate for the Rockwood, Ontario resident.

Lisagain, a recent addition to Gillis from trainer Erv Miller, was victorious this past Saturday at Woodbine stopping the clock in 1:51.4 in the $28,000 Preferred 2 class.

"To tell you the truth, he wasn’t quite as good as I would have hoped him to be this past Saturday," Gillis commented on Lisagain’s recent victory. "He had to work to get to the front, I don’t know what his most favourable trip is and I don’t really know a lot about him. I hope he can step it up even more on Saturday."

The son of Dragon Again is a half-brother to Lis Mara (1:47.3 – $2,270,674), who is currently standing stud in Ontario.

With career earnings of $426,481 and a lifetime best of 1:49.1, Lisagain will team up with Hall of Fame driver John Campbell and will begin from post two.

Twin B Warrior, an OSS graduate, has banked $615,861 lifetime and captured the $100,000 Willowdale Stakes final in late January but could be facing his toughest task to date as he begins from post six.

The son of Apaches Fame finished second behind Mr Saratoga, who is also entered into the Spring Pacing Championship final, in the $35,000 Preferred pace this past Saturday at Woodbine.

Gillis’ final entry is the son of Western Terror, Ideal Race. The winner of $421,433 lifetime will be looking to step up his performance even more after his recent overnight victory at Woodbine in 1:51.1.

In today’s interview with WEG’s media department, Gillis talks about his entries in the Spring Pacing Championship, the near return of last years $1,000,000 Metro winner, Mystician and his 2011 two-year-olds. To watch the interview, please click the video icon on the right side of this web page.
