Inside Track for June 13-14

June 15, 2026

A look at some of the top highlights from the past weekend of racing at Mohawk.

Make it 38

Lexus Kody was once again at the top of his game, this time in Saturday’s Free For All Trot on Pepsi North America Cup night.

With Yannick Gingras at the controls, the son of Archangel, at odds of 5-2, was fourth and charging after three-quarters in 1:22.2. Ahead by a half-length at the stretch call, Lexus Kody revved the engine and sped away for a convincing 3 3/4-length triumph in 1:50.4.

The superlative score, the 38th of his decorated career, pushed the brown gelding’s purse earnings to $2,607,356.

Trained by Ron Burke, who co-owns with Weaver Bruscemi LLC and Phillip Collura, 8-year-old Lexus Kody, who paid $7.80 for the win, is now 38-21-12 from 93 career starts.

Bringing the Sting

Stingray Deo and driver Mark MacDonald worked overtime for their 32-1 nose win in Saturday’s final dash.

Trained by Garry Merner, the 3-year-old son of Perfect Sting led for most of the way before giving up the lead in late stretch before battling back for the gritty triumph in 1:49.2.

It was the third win in 15 starts for Stingray Deo, who is owned by Gino Toscani.

Bred by Deo Volente Farms LLC, the bay gelding paid $66.40 for his latest trip to the winner’s circle.

Think about it

Ponder No Longer, a 6-year-old son of Smart Shark, rallied to take Sunday’s seventh race at 32-1.

Driven by J.R. Plante, the Gerard Demers trainee (he also owns) was ninth after the opening quarter, eighth after three-quarters and then sixth at the stretch call, before bursting to the lead en route to a three-quarter length triumph in a career-best 1:52.1.

Ponder No Longer is now 11-18-19 from 123 starts, to go along with $177,817 in purse earnings.

He paid $66.30 for his latest victory.
