A look at some of the top highlights from the past weekend of racing at Mohawk. Hat trick Tyler Driver Tyler Borth recorded a Sunday night hat trick, capped off, fittingly, with a winner’s circle trip with Sid The Kid ($3.70). Six wins away from 2,300 for his career, Borth netted his first victory on Sunday’s card courtesy of Quebec Hanover ($8.90). He tallied again in the eight race, piloting Johnny Buckshot ($2.90) to a 1 3/4-length score. Borth then partnered with Sid The Kid for a three-length triumph in the final race of the evening, teaming with the son of Alarm Detector for the victory in 1:55.4. Sid The Kid. Paired with driver Travis Henry, the 4-year-old son of Control The Moment–Future Fire N gained an early advantage over the field of nine pacers and remained in control as his lead reached a final margin of 1 ½ lengths. It was a mighty accomplishment for the seventh betting choice, who at 25-1, nabbed his second straight victory for trainer/owner David Frey. Up to 4-2-2 from 23 lifetime starts ($46,810), Fire Control paid $53.50. Fire Control.
