MILTON, June 4, 2025 – Elimination races take over Woodbine Mohawk Park this weekend to set the stage for Canada’s most prestigious night of racing on June 14. The Goodtimes and Armbro Flight Stakes will have a pair of eliminations each this Friday, while the Fan Hanover will have a pair of eliminations on Saturday. The Roses Are Red Stakes did not require eliminations. All four of those stakes events will have their finals contested on the Pepsi North America Cup card (June 14). Armbro Flight – Eliminations – Friday, June 6 The Armbro Flight (G2) for trotting mares received 13 entries, setting up two $35,000 eliminations for Friday night. Call Me Goo, last year’s winner, returns to defend her title as one of three entrants for trainer Ake Svanstedt. The five-year-old won last year’s race for trainer Jason Skinner before moving to the Svanstedt barn later in the season. Friday will be her first start of the season. A Challenger to Call Me Goo in Friday’s second split is Elista Hanover, who won 12 of 18 starts last season at three and just missed a victory by a nose in her season debut on May 24. Svanstedt trainee Dial Square S will be making her second start in North America during Friday’s first elimination. The five-year-old was victorious in her U.S. debut on May 24, winning the Miss Versatility. The first split also features the near $2 million earner M Ms Dream for trainer Ron Burke. The six-year-old was second in last year’s Armbro Flight and is looking for her third start in the event. The top-five finishers from each elimination advance to the $210,000 final on June 14. A pair of $30,000 eliminations will take place Friday evening to determine the field for the $227,000 final on June 14. Ontario sired standout Galen Erso is the top earner in the first elimination for trainer Gregg McNair. The son of Green Manalishi S made over $200,000 at age two and has already won the SBOA Stakes this season for new owner Brad Grant. Ake Svanstedt trainee Gap Kronos S will be making his season debut in the first elimination. The son of Face Time Bourbon won a pair of Grand Circuit races last season at The Red Mile, part of a three for eight campaign. Indiana star Eugene The Genius will get his first taste of Grand Circuit competition in the second Goodtimes division. The Melissa Essig trainee won eight of 10 starts last year and was notably third behind Maryland in the Peter Haughton Stakes. The son of Helpisontheway started this season with a win on May 26 and is approaching $500,000 in career earnings. Marcus Melander trainee Blank will also line up in the second split. Owner-breeder Millar Farms heavily debated racing Chantilly against the boys in the North America Cup, but ultimately decided to keep her against the fillies. Chantilly is undefeated in 11 career starts, starting this season two for two with wins in the SBOA Final and Ontario Sires Stakes Gold. She will face five other rivals in the second Fan Hanover split. The first Fan Hanover elimination features Breeders Crown winner Miki and Minnie. The Chris Ryder trainee dominated rivals in her season debut on May 12, winning a PA All-Stars division by 3 ¼ lengths. Miki And Minnie matches up against six other rivals in her elimination.
