Toronto, May 20, 2010 — Woodbine Entertainment Group (WEG) today announced that it will now be offering a guaranteed pool of $50,000 for the early Pick-4 wager on Tuesday nights. This comes in addition to a similar guarantee of $50,000 on Monday’s early Pick-4 pool. WEG began offering a guarantee of $35,000 on the early Pick-4 back in early March and then bumped the guarantee to $40,000 at the beginning of April. The weekly pool has continued to gain momentum over that time, especially with added exposure on Monday night’s on U.S. horse racing channel TVG, and topped the $60,000 mark the final two Mondays of the Fall/Winter Meet at Woodbine. Tuesday programs this summer at Mohawk will also be featured prominently on TVG as one of its feature signals on that night. "The results of the early Pick-4 guarantee on Monday nights have been very encouraging so far," said WEG’s Vice President of Standardbred Racing, Bruce Murray "We’re hoping that by adding the same guarantee on Tuesdays, along with the great coverage we’ve been getting on TVG, that we can continue to build on that momentum." Mohawk kicks off the Summer Meet of racing tonight with a 10-race program beginning at 7:30 p.m. Racing continues on Friday and Saturday as well with the same first post of 7:30 p.m. Mohawk’s annual Fireworks and Family Fun Night comes up this Sunday night.
