$2.3 million wagered on Mohawk Jackpot Hi-5 mandatory payout

CAMPBELLVILLE, October 15 – A total of $2,375,530 in new
money was wagered into the Jackpot Hi-5 pool for Saturday’s mandatory payout at
Mohawk Racetrack.


The carryover coming into the evening was $978,779. 


With over $2.3 million plus the nearly $1 million carryover
on the line, Preppy Art (#3) and driver Doug McNair were victorious at odds of
9/2.


The Jackpot Hi-5 winning combination was 3-4-2-7-5 and a
$0.20 winning ticket got back $2,446.33 ($12,231.65 for a $1 ticket).


The top-five finishers from the Jackpot Hi-5 race are listed
below.


1st: #3 Preppy Art – 9/2


2nd: #4 Dubious Claim – 2/1


3rd: #2 Kazimoto – 40/1


4th: #7 Homey Joe – 17/1


5th: #5 Rollaroundtheworld – 3/1


The Jackpot Hi-5 wager requires horseplayers to select the
top-five finishers in order and features a $0.20 minimum and a 15 per cent
takeout.


The total handle for Saturday’s 12-race card featuring the
Jackpot Hi-5 and Ontario Sires Stakes Super Finals was $4,627,263.


The Jackpot Hi-5 will now start from scratch on Monday
evening’s card, which is the final card of the 2017 Mohawk meet. Live racing
moves to Woodbine Racetrack beginning Thursday, October 19.
