MILTON, October 15, 2018 – Charmbo Brie will have a chance at a Harvest Series sweep following a second-leg victory on Monday evening at Woodbine Mohawk Park. The Betterthancheddar two-year-old filly and driver Mike Saftic battled through a strong headwind in the lane to win the first of two $17,000 divisions in 1:58.1 for breeder/owner/trainer John Rier. Charmbo Brie converted off a two-hole trip to defeat Princess Layla by a length. Salutation crossed the wire in third. The second-leg victory gives Charmbo Brie back-to-back victories and improves her rookie record to three wins and $34,321 earned in 12 starts. She paid $7.80 to win. Bettors Delight filly Thats Incredible was a convincing winner in the second split. The Bob McIntosh trainee and driver Trevor Henry circled from second to first before the half and proceeded to pull away in the lane for a 1:57 score. Twin B Tipster finished second, beat 3 ¼ lengths, while Erikas Shadow was third. Thats Incredible finished second in last week’s opening leg to Green Point, who finished sixth this week. A homebred for Robert McIntosh Stables Inc, C S X Stables and Dave Boyle, Thats Incredible now has two wins and $25,338 earned in 10 starts. She paid $12.40 to win. Ontario sired two-year-old pacing fillies, who were non-winners of $30,000 as of September 30, 2018, were eligible for nomination to the Harvest Series. The Harvest Series final for two-year-old pacing fillies will take place on Thursday, October 25. Live racing continues Tuesday evening at Woodbine Mohawk Park.
