Jackpot Hi-5 hit for $70,743.60

August 4, 2018

MILTON, August 3, 2018 – Hot Spot Hanover topped a lucrative payout in Friday’s nitecap at Woodbine Mohawk Park as a single ticket connected on the top-five combination to haul down the Jackpot Hi-5.

The horseplayer with the single winning ticket scored a massive return of CDN$70,743.60.

Hot Spot Hanover (#8) and driver Sylvain Filion captured the evening’s final race at odds of 14-1, while the tepid mutuel favourite, Jayes a Lady, finished off the board.

Here are the top-five finishers from Friday’s Jackpot Hi-5 race:

1st: #8 Hot Spot Hanover (Sylvin Filion) 14-1
2nd: #7 Filly Forty Seven (Bob McClure) 23-1
3rd: #1 Twenty Three Red (Louis Phillipe Roy) 6-1
4th: #10 Wanda Bayama (Travis Cullen) 7-1
5th: #6 Hp Pandora (Jonathan Drury) 7-1

The winning ticket was purchased by a U.S.-based horseplayer in Oregon. The ticket cost US$6,048 with the horseplayer making a $0.20 base bet boxing the 10-horse field.

The carryover for the Jackpot Hi-5 entering the week’s first card was $49,096.16. Horseplayers wagered
an additional $25,467 on the Hi-5 Friday.

The Jackpot Hi-5 wager requires horseplayers to correctly select the top-five finishers in order. The
Jackpot is only paid out when there is a single winning ticket. If there are multiple winning tickets,
half of the evening’s pool is paid out to the winners, while the other half moves into the carryover
Jackpot.

The Jackpot Hi-5 features a $0.20 minimum wager and a low 15 per cent takeout.

The Hi-5 will now start from scratch on Saturday evening’s card. Post time is 7:00 p.m.
