Woodbine Mohawk Park cancels live racing for Friday

July 17, 2026

MILTON, July 17, 2026 – Woodbine Entertainment has announced tonight’s card of live Standardbred racing at Woodbine Mohawk Park is cancelled due to poor air quality.

Environment Canada’s air quality index for Milton is again listed as ‘High Risk’ and is expected to remain at this level throughout Thursday. Woodbine’s decision to cancel comes through consultation with COSA and the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) and is consistent with the AGCO’s air quality guidelines.

This cancellation has been made in the best interests of the health and safety of the horses and racing participants.

The Tompkins-Geers Stakes for two-year-old colt and gelding trotters scheduled for Friday will now be cancelled. Nomination and sustaining payments will be split among the entrants.

Details regarding the rescheduling of Friday’s Ontario Sires Stakes Gold for three-year-old colt and gelding trotters and Ontario Sires Stakes Grassroots for two-year-old colt and gelding pacers will be released later today.

Qualifiers that were scheduled for Saturday morning have been moved to Monday morning (July 20) at 9 a.m.

Live racing is scheduled to resume Saturday evening at 6:30 p.m.
