MILTON, May 4, 2019 – Sintra continued his Woodbine Preferred dominance with a strong 1:50.2 victory on Saturday night at Mohawk Park. Entering undefeated in six starts this season, Sintra and driver Jody Jamieson came first-up from third on the far turn to engage leader Dr J Hanover and powered by at the head of the lane to collect a 1 ¾ length score in the $34,000 feature event. Jimmy Freight followed Sintra’s path and finished a solid second in his four-year-old debut. P L Jackson finished third, while Go West Go Fast was fourth. Dr J Hanover cut the mile in his Woodbine return, posting sensible fractions of :27, :55.4 and 1:23.4. The Tony Alagna trainee faded in his first start following the trip to north to finish seventh, beat 5 ¼ lengths. Sintra now has back-to-back victories after a layoff, which saw him move into the barn of trainer Stephanie Jamieson for the new ownership group of Michael Guerriero, Kelly Waxman, Nunzio Vena and Frank Cirillo. The six-year-old gelding is now a 25-time winner with over $1.1 million in career earnings. A $2 win ticket on Sintra returned $2.80. Live racing resumes Monday evening at Woodbine Mohawk Park.
