Blackmore to retire; Horner new Manager of Racing Surfaces

MILTON, July 2, 2021 – Woodbine Entertainment would like to congratulate Rick Blackmore, Manager of Racing Surfaces at Woodbine Mohawk Park, on his upcoming retirement.

Blackmore joined Woodbine Entertainment in December 2002 and has been the Manager of Racing Surfaces for Woodbine Mohawk Park since the track became the home of year-round racing in Spring 2018. Always a friendly face and conversation, Woodbine and the horse racing community would like to thank Blackmore for his service over the years and wish him well in retirement.

With Blackmore’s retirement, Woodbine is pleased to announce veteran horseman Mark Horner has been named the new Manager of Racing Surfaces for Woodbine Mohawk Park.

An active member of the Ontario horse racing community, Horner is a long-time breeder, owner and trainer and has been involved with various organizations, including Standardbred Canada and Central Ontario Standardbred Association.
