Handicapper and racing analyst Doug McPherson offers his insight on each horse in Sunday’s sixth race on June 15 at Woodbine. Race 6 (3:57 p.m. ET) 6 ½ furlongs on the E.P. Taylor turf For Three Year Olds And Upward Which Have Never Won Two Races Or Ontario Sired Allowance Which Have Never Won Two Races. McPherson’s $20 bet: $10 exactor #6 over 7,8 Race 6 #1 My Boy Bruce – Could not re-rally after a slight shuffle entering the turn on May 18. Has talent but pedigree does not suggest turf; your call. #2 Jaggersgotagun – Ran two very good races at the start of the 2024 campaign before going off form. Could be a speed factor from the inside; goes off of Lasix today. #3 Deputy Daddy – Made a circling rally to win a shorter sprint on the main track on May 24. Turf is a new question, but he is in very good from so far this season. #4 Quiet Vista – Made just one start in 2024 but it was a winning one against $25,000 maidens. Goes for a barn who doesn’t run aggressively but has them ready when they do enter. #5 Wagner – Missed his three-year-old season and ran flat when dropping in for this tag for his return to the races on May 18. May have just needed a start off the extended layoff. #6 Phillip My Wine (pictured, Michael Burns Photo) – Overcame the three-wide trip and held on to win his first start off the bench May 30. I think the future is bright for this lightly raced four-year-old. #7 American Decision – Gets on the E.P. Taylor turf for the first time since his maiden win in July. He has a habit of losing ground on the turn and likely is best suited to the wide turn of this course. #8 Roar of the Crowd – Has been on turf just once, a strong closing second in a five-furlong inner turf dash in October. If he can work out a trip, he could be a late factor here. Share This:Share
