TORONTO, November 9 – In peak form coming off back-to-back runner-up finishes in stakes action, Ghostly Presence is the early favourite in this Saturday’s $125,000 Jammed Lovely Stakes for Ontario-bred three-year-old fillies at Woodbine Racetrack. Chiefswood Stable’s homebred Ghostzapper-Five N Forty filly came up just a neck short of a sophomore stakes victory in her last two starts in the La Lorgnette Stakes and Carotene Stakes behind Let It Ride Mom and Inflexibility, respectively. “The filly is doing super and she looks really powerful in this spot,” said Hall of Fame trainer Roger Attfield. “The last couple of months she’s flourished and she’s doing really, really well. She looks well and she’s a really top class filly, no question.” Ghostly Presence has won three of her 12 starts lifetime, including last year’s Princess Elizabeth Stakes, while earning just over $250,000. She will be cutting back to seven furlongs in the Jammed Lovely for the first time since her season’s debut in April. “I think she’s very strong in this race. We’re cutting back to seven-eighths, but that’s not going to bother her a little bit,” said Attfield, who has won the Jammed Lovely Stakes once per decade since the 1980s and will be looking to score back-to-back wins after Calling Rhy Rhy’s 2016 victory. Ghostly Presence will face rival filly Mythical Mission, who she out-finished last time out for the first time in their five match-ups this season. Coming off her third-place finish in the Carotene, Mythical Mission has been supplemented for $2,500 to the Jammed Lovely. Sam-Son Farm’s homebred Giant’s Causeway-Misty Mission filly is also in search of her first stakes win of the year. The Malcolm Pierce trainee has been a top contender in stakes action this season, hitting the board in five of six starts including runner-up finishes in the first two Canadian Triple Tiara legs, while pushing her earnings close to the $250,000 mark. Sprint specialist Dilly Dally Darby is another supplemental entry, who is trained by Nick Gonzalez for owner Carlo Tucci. The field also includes a pair of Michael Doyle trainees in Crumlin Queen and Green Freedom, with Greek Justice completing the line up for trainer Paul Buttigieg. The complete field is listed below for the Jammed Lovely Stakes, which is scheduled at race eight on Saturday’s 1 p.m. program. $125,000 Jammed Lovely Stakes Post – Horse – Jockey – Trainer – Morning Line Odds 1.
