TORONTO, December 4, 2017 – Each week, track announcer Robert Geller comments on some of the performances that caught his eye, highlighting horses to key in on for upcoming races at Woodbine. AMBITIOUS MOON (11-19-17, Race 4, No. 10, 4th) First-time starter Ambitious Moon caught the eye with a late closing fourth up the rail behind Whispering Speaker, who downed favourite Magical Holiday at the wire. The three-year-old daughter of Malibu Moon finished just over two lengths from the winner at the end of the seven-furlong trip. Sent off at odds of 25-1 in this maiden special weight, the Rachel Halden-trained newcomer put the writing on the wall. It was encouraging to see Ambitious Moon take a seam in the stretch to put her best foot forward late. With that run under the belt, this nicely-bred filly for Chiefswood Stable may well race handier next time out and eclipse them all. ZENTACULAR (11-26-17, Race 5, No. 9, 2nd) Despite sporting a slow work-tab, 12-1 newcomer Zentacular fared best of all four debut runners when second to gate-to-wire winner Wandofuhr, who drew into the field once the race was switched off the turf onto the main track at the same distance of seven furlongs. The Mark Casse two-year-old remained prominent throughout, looming as a threat on the swing for home before the winner kicked and drew off to score by a 4-1/2 length margin. By Graeme Hall from a Distorted Humor dam, Zentacular looks set to improve on the strength of that performance with race fitness to call on. There is the option of either surface in the future, but for now, it is evident that the youngster handles the main track well should the barn take a shot at one more start before the curtain comes down on the meet.
