A brief duel with Old Chestnut leaving the gate was the stiffest test faced by the son of Uncle Mo–Aurora Lights, who widened his lead at every checkpoint before crossing the wire 5 ¾ lengths clear. Entering the 6 ½-furlong dash off a neck score in her debut – a 5 ½-furlong sprint on July 6 at Woodbine – the ascending 2-year-old filly, under an impressive ride from Fraser Aebly, delivered a powerful rally to claim the Catch a Glimpse by 1 ½ lengths. Michael Burns Photography Map to victory Apprentice rider Xarel Forde and 19-1 underdog Artemus Citylimits stunned their contemporaries and the Woodbine faithful with an impressive triumph of Sunday’s $150,000 Vice Regent Stakes. Operating out of post five, the in-sync duo exercised great patience before making their move in the 5-furlong inner turf sprint, prevailing by a neck over fellow longshot Giant Teddy (24-1). Trained by Martin Drexler for owner Dwight Baron, Artemus Citylimits’ first career stakes score marked his first trip to the winner’s circle since July 2022 and paid $40.40.
