Sweet Shades, a 9-year-old daughter of Sligo Bay (IRE) out of the Whiskey Wisdom mare Siddona, made 17 career starts, winning once. The bay mare, adopted through Southern Belle Thoroughbreds, is thriving in her first show season. “Meet Sweet Shades, a 2016 mare by Sligo Bay who retired from the track in October 2022. After some well-earned downtime and a bit of retraining, she’s now thriving in her first show season at the Silver Series Angelstone Events. From piloting her mom to a 5th-place finish in the cross rail classic, to placing in the 0.7s and 2’6 derby, she’s proving herself to be a true competitor.
