Involuntary well meant in Flaming Page

August 10, 2017

TORONTO, August 10 – Involuntary, fresh off a solid third in the Grade 2 Dance Smartly Stakes, headlines Friday’s $100,000 Flaming Page Stakes, at Woodbine.

Trained by Josie Carroll for Stronach Stables, the consistent Involuntary sports a record of 3-3-1 from nine starts including a victory in the 2016 edition of the Drumptop Stakes at Suffolk Downs when trained by Arnaud Delacour for then owner/breeder Catherine Wills.
The City Zip chestnut was purchased privately at the end of her 2016 campaign by Stronach Stables and transferred to Carroll’s barn to make her debut with a strong second in an optional claiming turf event at Gulfstream Park on March 30. She then shipped north to Woodbine and produced a strong runner-up effort in the Grade 2 Nassau, over yielding turf, setting up her game effort in the Dance Smartly. Gary Boulanger retains the mount.
Trainer Graham Motion has shipped Rachel Wall and Happyness north for the 1 1/2-mile Flaming Page for older fillies and mares.
Rachel Wall, a five-year-old Blame bay owned by Bill Crager, boasts a record of 3-3-1 from 14 starts and will be seeking her first win of the campaign. Leading rider Eurico Rosa da Silva has the call on the talented stakes placed miss who narrowly missed an added-money score when collared in the final stride of the 2015 edition of the Little Silver S. at Monmouth Park.
Happyness, a five-year-old Verglas grey, has a nose for the finish line with three wins, a second and a third from just seven starts. She started her career in France (1-1-1) before shipping to North America and the care of trainer Chad Brown and won her U.S. debut in an Aqueduct turf allowance on April 9, 2016. She followed up with another turf score at Belmont Park when travelling 1 1/4-miles before completing her campaign with an off-the-board effort in the Via Borghese Stakes at Gulfstream Park on New Year’s Eve. Transferred to Motion over the offseason, she made her seasonal debut in the Grade 3 Robert G. Dick Memorial Stakes at Delaware Park finishing seventh. Alan Garcia has the call in her Canadian debut.
Giovanna Blues, Belle de Nuit, Moonlight Sky and Sardinia complete the field.
The Flaming Page is slated as Race 6 on Friday’s eight-race card. First post time is 3:45PM on the twilight card. Fans can watch and wager on all the action via HPIbet.com.
