Win

Lapochka is an oldie, but a goodie.

The 11-year-old son of English Channel-Russian Sweetiepie, who won Saturday’s fourth race, now has 19 career wins from 76 career starts to go along with $517,801 in purse earnings.

Trained by Vito Armata for owner Eight Star Racing Stables Inc., the chestnut gelding has posted 42 top-three finishes and has landed in the top four in eight consecutive races.

Lapochka debuted with a third on June 17, 2016, at Woodbine.

Place

It was an Olympic-esque Saturday for jockey Emma-Jayne Wilson, who reached the podium on four occasions.

Aside from two victories – one with Kavala and the other with Quiet Maddelena – the lifetime winner of 1,878 races also recorded a second and a third on the afternoon.

Wilson, in her 20th season, has 129 career stakes wins to her name.
