TORONTO, February 26, 2019 – The Woodbine backstretch has reopened for the 2019 Thoroughbred racing season with many local stars returning from their winter retreat at trainer Paul Buttigieg’s sprawling 100-acre farm and training centre located in Egbert, Ont. Woodbine Entertainment’s award-winning broadcast team has profiled the Buttigieg Training Centre, home to the horseman’s own Thoroughbreds as well as the stables of popular Woodbine trainers during the offseason, including Robert Tiller, Kevin Attard and Michael De Paulo. Woodbine’s dirt training track will open for business on Wednesday and the main track is scheduled to open on Friday as spring training gets underway in preparation for Woodbine Thoroughbred racing’s season opener on April 20.
