Declan delivers

Jockey Declan Carroll orchestrated an impressive winning ride aboard Scoot Daddy in the ninth race on Sunday. The 4-year-old son of We Miss Artie won the 6 ½-furlong turf race by two lengths with Carroll in the irons. It was the second straight victory for the Kentucky-bred, trained and owned by Nick Nosowenko.

Worth repeating

“I think everyone, horse people and fans, look forward to the start of turf racing. We have two beautiful courses, and the races are always competitive. Hopefully, we can have a strong start and carry that throughout the turf season.” – Trainer Kevin Attard

Worth watching

Googly Eyes, under Ryan Munger, was definitely worth watching in Saturday’s sixth race contested over the E.P. Taylor Turf Course.

Worth knowing

It’s a stakes-stacked weekend coming up, featuring a trio of graded events and the inaugural running of the Pink Lloyd Stakes.
