Jockey Meet and Greet set for Woodbine Oaks Day

TORONTO, June 8, 2018 – Woodbine Oaks day will kick off with a Jockey Meet and Greet autograph signing session before Saturday’s action-packed 12-race program.

The Meet and Greet session will take place by the New Player Zone on the second floor of the grandstand from 12:15 p.m. to 12:45 p.m.

Fans will have the chance to meet some of Woodbine’s stars including Hall of Fame jockey Sandy Hawley, who won the Woodbine Oaks a record eight times. Defending champion Luis Contreras and 2010 Oaks winner David Moran are scheduled to make appearances as well as Jeffrey Alderson, who will compete in this year’s Oaks.

First race post time on Saturday is 1 p.m., with the 63rd running of the $500,000 Woodbine Oaks Presented By Budweiser scheduled as the 11th race (approximate post time of 6:37 p.m.) The $125,000 Plate Trial Stakes (Race 9) and the $100,000 Alywow Stakes (Race 6) are also featured on the program.
