Career

• 2014 marked the tenth consecutive season Baillargeon’s starters earned more than $1 million.
• In 2014, Baillargeon’s White Becomes Her won the Canadian Breeders Championship, two OSS Gold events and banked just under $300,000.
• In 2013, Baillargeon’s Muscle Matters won the Ontario Sires Stakes Super Final for two-year-old trotting colts. 
• At the end of 2011, Baillargeon sent out 853 starters who accumulated $2,884,443 in earnings. This marked the fourth consecutive year that Baillargeon has earned $2 million or more in purse earnings.
• Some of the top horses from Baillargeon in 2011 were Andover America ($240,300), Voelz Hanover ($209,290), Odysseus Blue Chip ($151,451) and Upfront Hoosierboy ($168,920),
• In the summer of 2011, Baillargeon’s Voelz Hanover surpassed $1 million in career earnings. Baillargeon primarily trained the daughter of Astreos throughout her career for owner Richard Berthiaume.
• 2010 marks the second consecutive year, Baillargeon finished second in the training standings on the WEG circuit. The veteran conditioned finished second by a single victory to Tracey Brainard in 2009 and finished second to Richard Moreau this past 2010 season. He capped off his 2010 season with 99 victories (three below Moreau) from 649 starters and earned over $2 million.
• Some of his 2010 top older performers included Homer Jay ($123,870), Sakic Seelster ($93,880) and Mystical Ryan ($91,170).
• In 2010, Baillargeon once again campaigned top stakes performers Yursa Hanover ($160,225), Voelz Hanover ($277,940) and Oh Sweet Baby ($243,530), who captured the $300,000 Ontario Sires Stakes Super Final.
• 2010 marked the tenth full season in Ontario for the Quebec native, who followed his brother, Mario (one of the circuit’s top drivers), here.
• In 2008, Baillargeon tied Rob Fellows in WEG’s trainer standings with 95 victories.
• In 2002, his stable finished eighth in the standings with 72 wins and $1,622,134 in purses…before moving to Ontario in the fall of 2000, Baillargeon had a successful stable at Hippodrome de Montreal.
• Baillargeon’s first full season on the WEG circuit in 2001 was an unqualified success as his stable finished fifth in the standings with 79 wins and more than $1.9 million in purses.
• He was introduced to harness racing by his father Gaetan, who trained and drove standardbreds. Ben’s brother, Mario, is 363 days older than him.
