Inside Track: May 24-25

May 26, 2025

A look at some of the top highlights from the past weekend of racing at Woodbine.

Once, Twice, Three Times a Winner

Jockey Ryan Munger spread the wealth on Saturday at Woodbine, capturing three races for three different trainers.

The native of Johannesburg, South Africa, kicked off the win parade with a 1 ½-length triumph aboard the Barb Minshall-trained filly Armored Guard in race three.

Munger struck again in race six with unbeaten Dolce Fortuna (2-for-2), conditioned by Josie Carroll, before capping off the banner day with Ian Black trainee Talk to Ya Later in the eighth.

Rafael Hernandez won four races on Sunday, while Sofia Vives netted the hat trick on the same day.

Teamwork = Dreamwork

The team of 4-year-old filly Sinclairity (named after Canadian soccer legend Christine Sinclair) rider Pietro Moran and trainer Kevin Attard stayed perfect through three starts together with a tenacious triumph of Saturday’s fourth race.

Following an impressive pair of tallies, Sinclairity fought gamely to ward off 4-1 foe Sweet Passions and take the six-furlong dash by three-quarters-of-a-length.

The Tabitha Lee-bred daughter of Souper Speedy–Heres Mud Inyr Eye has now made over $75,000 after being purchased for $19,000 by Canuck Racing Club in 2022.

Fancy Seeing You Here

Pine Knoll and Last American Exit know each other well on and off the track.

The Marty Drexler-trained stablemates renewed their in-house rivalry on Sunday, going head-to-head for the second time in as many starts.

Pine Knoll, piloted by Rafael Hernandez and owned by TEC Racing, had revenge on the mind after conceding to Last American Exit in their earlier matchup on May 4, also at Woodbine.

Under steady urging, the son of City Zip–Richwood successfully turned the tables on his running mate to even the score at one a piece.

A $2 5-2 exacta on the Drexler duo paid $8.60.
