Clocker Report: Horses to watch this weekend

TORONTO, September 1 – Each week, Woodbine’s head clocker Ernie Perri comments on some of the top workouts watched, highlighting horses to key on in upcoming races at Woodbine.

[Track ratings based on a scale of 1-5 with ‘1’ being the slowest.]

Friday, Race 3 – Niigon’s Bay
Ernie said: “Niigon’s Bay worked :49.20b with Husbands up for Halden on August 25. After the break, the track was rated 3. She went very easily in a maintenance move.”

Saturday, Race 5 – Silent Sting
Ernie said: “Silent Sting work for Sid Attard on August 4 in :59.40b, final three-eighths in :34.80, galloped out in 1:13.8. Another Stronach horse by Silent Name worked after the break track on the slow side rated 2.5. Dam produced a stakes winner.”

Saturday, Race 5 – Latonka
Ernie said, “Latonka worked in 100.00b on August 17. Boulanger worked the horse for McClachrie. After the break, the track was rated 3 fair. He outworked a tough trying Kiss Up by about six lengths. This barn can get one ready.”
