Clocker Report: Horses to watch this weekend

May 3, 2019

TORONTO, May 3, 2019 – Each week, Woodbine’s head clocker Ernie Perri comments on some of the top workouts watched, highlighting horses to key in on for upcoming races at Woodbine.

[Track ratings based on a scale of 1-5 with ‘1’ being the slowest.]

Saturday, Race 4 – Tale of Vienna

Tale of Vienna worked for trainer Laurie Silvera on April 17 on the training track out of the gate in company with Bridlewise Tale. He went in 1:01.80 under a very nice hold with a lot left in the tank, beating Bridlewise by three lengths. In a follow up work on the main on April 27, he went in 1:01.20 beating HMS Pinafore by five lengths into a strong head wind that day.

Saturday, Race 9 – Absolution

Absolution worked for trainer Tony Gattellaro back on the training track on March 29 in :48.40, coming home in :23.40 with a beautiful long stride. I like that Alan Garcia is on and also the first-time gelding angle.

Saturday, Race 9 – Analyzer

Analyzer worked on April 27 for trainer Ashlee Brnjas in company with Alkeline. Both worked in 1:00.80 while Analyzer was motionless in that work.

Sunday, Race 3 – Seguimi

Seguimi worked on  April 28 for trainer Stu Simon in a 1:00.80 in company with Rose’s Vision. His last three works have been in company with Rose’s Vision – a great frame of reference.
